While Wrexham would likely offer him League One football next season would he want to play wingback? He seems to prefer playing forward where his talents are clearly greater.

If true we're better cashing in but it's a bit late to replace him. McLennan it is then 😭

If true we're better cashing in but it's a bit late to replace him. McLennan it is then 😭 In the 4-2-3-1 we've been playing I would start Hendry as the #10 behind Smith, move McAleny to the left and Luamba to the right. N'Mai first option off the bench (I prefer N'Mai over McAleny and Luamba but Robinson doesn't seem to trust him as a starter)

I’d keep him, because we could at least have a go at climbing the table and try and rescue something from the season. But we’re a selling club. I think Gary Neville once said he’d never stand in the way of a player bettering himself. We did it with Asante, now Bolton and I expect if someone came in for Watt, we’d sell him too. I’m not sure if the wheels are coming off or we’re already running on only three?

Saturday will be interesting if he does go to them. Can we request he doesn't play as part of the deal I wonder?

It's so exhilarating to watch Bolton in a Salford shirt sprinting past opposition players. And, sure, I was really happy for Brandon when he got his promotion. BUT, selfishly,... I do so hope that the Wrexham deal falls through at the eleventh hour. All the Salford players are loving it here under Robinson. Come on Luke (and all concerned) - you play an integral role - just give us another four months. Please. You know you want to.

Will miss his crosses bouncing off the roof of the net. Seriously, he was never going to sign on again in summer so better to get a fee now. Consolidation this season then hopefully rebuild the squad in summer

Perhaps Wrexham's interest in Bolton was piqued with title contenders Stockport County having supposedly made an earlier bid for him? Mind you, money is obviously not a problem for Wrexham who must have their own in house printing facility given their wage bill and transfer fees paid.

I wish him the best of luck but can't say I'm bothered. We have no chance of playoffs but should have enough to avoid relegation given how poor Sutton and FGR have been. He was never going to resign so best to get something in return.
This will be my statement if any other out of contract players leave today such as Watt or Hendry (although I have not heard of anything recently)
I'm only surprised by Bolton going to Wrexham as he didn't seem to enjoy playing wingback and that is where he will be used.

If you step back and look at the market at large for L2 I think it’s becoming an arms race between County and Wrexham now. I wouldn’t have been surprised if we saw a £1mil transfer to Wrexham this season (see Jack Marriot has followed Bolton to Wales just now). For where we are in the table at the point I think we would be better off taking a consolidatory position and start planning aggressively for the summer. The group clearly has enough to eek away from the drop zone and the gaps between us and the cut off to the national league will grow wider. Trying to jump the gap to where Bradford are through to 13th is where we should look to end the season based on current form.
As for deadline day from a Salford perspective my worry is Watt leaving more than Hendry. Both Wrexham and County went in for Owen Moxon prior to his move to Portsmouth. Moxon was an assist machine last season just behind Watt so I could see his name being the next one on the list for those clubs. With KR angling for youth I have no issue in a us blooding youngsters like Luamba and N’Mai, through til the end of the season and start putting the foundations in for 24/25, just be straight and communicate that to the support is my only ask.

Never saw much to impress under Wood but since KR I thought Luke Bolton looked excellent and a nightmare for the opposite defenders. He'll be missed.
