I suppose you can only beat what's in front of you. To be fair to Rammy, they were still in the game up until our second goal, which realistically put the game to bed. The defence looked good again, even if they weren't tested too much, and Stopforth and Moses controlled the game in the middle. I think Tunji deserves some credit for the shifts he's put in in Burton's absence. Johnston and Allen caused the Rammy defence numerous problems in both halves, and we did create a fair number of chances. That said, despite scoring, Hine squandered far too many again. Against better teams he will need to improve his chances to conversion ration. Glad to see Seddon back on the score sheet and Pooley back on the pitch, too. Overall, 4-0 was probably a fair reflection of the game. As for atmosphere, a few of us tried to get a few chants going during the game and were singing continually for the last twenty minutes; unfortunately, I don't think the sound travels too far outside our little pocket.

TBH Madden, Workington have had a lot of rain, and Darlo had about 5 or 6 games postponed due to their pitch being waterlogged, so I presume it's the same everywhere!
The attendances have dropped off, as expected! This will grow again, but as long as we retain amount of fans each time then we will slowly increase our average gate!
4-0 is a cracking win regardless of who it's against, I'd just like us to be more clinical in front of goal now!
One thing I have noticed in the last 2 games, Frickley and Rammmy's attacks all came from the wings, and usually very solid in Gumbs and Stevie O, they do seem to be getting beat quite easily. Not a criticism, just highlighting areas we need to improve to become unbeatable! ;-)

Three points, and that's about it.Finishing again poor. And what more would you want 'returntosender'? Would you prefer that we only had 4 chances and scored all 4 but apart from that nothing else happen or would you prefer to watch a team who create chance after chance after chance? These boys are semi-professional remember, which tells me that although excellent footballers they aren't at the 'elite' level of their craft! Would you have taken Hines goal haul of 3 in 4 when we signed him? I agree that forums are for praising, criticising and discussing teams performances but at times you sound like an extremely peed off individual! You are entitled to your opinion as everyone on this forum is but your constant cynical comments border on narcissistic.

And I was not the only one who thought so.Come the end of the season,we might need a few extra goals. They could be the difference between going up,or staying put.

And do you think these boys mean to miss chances? As stated above, they aren't 'elite' players so will miss more chances than they score but I'll bet you anything you want that NO TEAM in our league will have as many forwards who have scored 12+ goals.. Poole, Hulme, Webber, Allen and Hine including his goals at Chorley!
Be realistic in what's expected from part time footballers.

All going off !! Id much rather be entertained and have a team creating chances missing a few on the way rather than a team that create once or twice and score the once or twice yes more clinical but boring as hell but i get both sides of the argument. Keep the debate going peeps

I just don't see the point in moaning and being negative after a 4-0 win.
Against Stourbridge we lost 1-0 due to a sending off, I'd get the player bashing for that one as it cost us a win.
Against Blyth (albeit I wasn't there) we lost but could have got something due to missed chances so again I get the player bashing.
Frickley at home, lots of misses chances and some dodgy defending cost is 2 points and yep, more player bashing which is totally understandable.
But a 4-0 win, come on. This isn't the Roman Empire in the coliseum where we as emperors bay for blood is it?

Nobody is being personal or player bashing but the fact remains that missed chances have cost us 5 points in out last 3 games. Anyone at all three games surely cannot dispute that. The good thing is that we continue to create chances galore but will we be able to do so in the games against Workington - Home, Darlington - Home & Away, Nantwich Town- Home, Stourbridge - Away and Ashton United both Home & Away? I don't have a crystal ball so I don't have the answer but in my opinion we will certainly have to start being more clinical than we have been recently. Not a criticism as such but a personal viewpoint. As regards the atmosphere there was no complaint about the 'School End' who certainly made their presence felt. I was referring more to the main stand which remained animated for most of the game despite the best efforts of a few of us. Mind you, the appearance of Salford 'legend' Mark Molyneux probably shocked a lot of them into stunned silence!

With all due respect my post was in reply to 'returntosender' who is without a shadow of doubt the most negative person I have ever seen on a forum who actually supports the team and isn't a 'troll'. My post was also with regards to his post about last nights game!
Granted, the team didn't play like Barcelona but with the state of the pitch which by the way in my opinion is the worst I've seen this season, was always going to be near impossible! You only have to look on the Rammy forum to see how good of a 'team' we have!

I thought that the main stand has been making a fair bit of noise recently. Not continuously, but some none the less. Mind you, I couldn't say for sure as obviously I'm positioned elsewhere.

To be fair we have not been clinical the last few weeks with some sitters missed by a number of players. Against the top 6 we'll have to be more clinical.
Now to the game itself; one has only just thawed out. We didn't get out of 2nd gear and quite frankly we didn't need to against a poor Ramsbottom side who have quite possibly been the worse team one has seen this season. One sincerely hopes they stay up and after engaging with some of their fans before the game they seem like decent people and appreciate all what Mr Johson and Mr Morley did for them at their time at RUFC, though they did say there's one still a little bit bitter and can't move on but he lives down south and can't make all the games. One's musings seem to have taken one off track, right, the game, we were always in control and a 7 or 8 nil wouldn't have flattered us but as remarked earlier all in 2nd gear. The defence had very little to do and the game was over by half-time. The pitch(s) are clearly having an affect on our game, style of play; difficult to play the short game and the boy Hines seems to like the ball over the top to run onto. One does think we are missing Burton and Hardcastle in midfield which may be a contributing factor in being a little more direct in recent weeks. The fellow JJ on the right wing looks a good player, one likes watching a winger that gets white on the bottom of his boots and he, JJ, does this. He's also apt at cutting in and destroyed their left back last night.
So, in summary, decent score line, poor opposition, we've played better and not picked up all 3 points. One expects the games against Halesowen, Workington and Darlington 1883 to be much stiffer challenges and a real acid test of our true current form.
