well, well well, this has been a well talked about topic, was on the radio and a live stream last night discussing this, I am surprised at the timing just being 5 games in, why only give him 5 games after signing all the players he has, unless of course they were casper's signings.
Again just to reiterate what you guys have said, the tactics/subs made on Saturday were a disgrace, but I still think sacking Graham this early was harsh. Neville bangs on about giving managers time etc when working for sky tv, yet he sacks a manager after 5 games in a new season after not playing for several months due to covid. Just doesn't make any sense to me.
I see Warren Joyce has come in as the early favourite, Joyce should not be given the managers job at all, he has wealth of experience but there is a difference between a coach and a manager, Joyce is a coach for me, keep him at the development squad as he's doing a good job there. For me the next manager has the smell of Roy Keane all over it, Keane has been attending games since late last year. Surely the class of 92' have somebody lined up, if so, the Cowley brothers have been mentioned, which would be a good coup after doing a good job at Lincoln and Huddersfield, however my gripe with this, surely if Cowley was on the contenders list to be managers, surely the board would of had something in place for them to take charge this weekend as the Cowley brothers are free agents? think about it, its still international week, Keane will have media duties with certain tv broadcasters, he will complete them duties this week and I have a sneaky feeling next week the Keane deal will be announced.

On balance, not really a surprise, his style of play at Moor Lane was overly cautious, but perhaps that was due to the pressure CL92 put on him? He certainly didn't play that style at Fleetwood or Scunny. I wish him well, one of the good guys in football.
So, if everyone's favourite angry Irishman gets the job, I'll say fair well, otherwise, I hope for a quality manager, not really bothered who.
I do have this thought though: Is the real issue that CL92 were too tight to flatten the pitch at Moor Lane? The dip in the School End south corner is shocking, not really LG2 standard. It can't be easy to play on a pitch that slopes so much, I have seen so many under and over hit long passes over the seasons. Attacking football needs fast and accurate passing, not something our pitch is conducive to. Yes, I know it is the same for both sides, but its not something you necessarily get used to.
We'll see if the next manager does any better...

I’ve not much to add that’s already been said, was a surprise, didn’t see that coming, but with crowd restrictions and all that has gone on, whoever takes over will have a good squad of players to work with including all the classy development players we have at our disposal ! I don’t think the poor 2nd half performance was the “ straw that broke the camels back “ but the mystifying thing is why having a experienced defender on the bench in Tom Clarke, why didn’t he come on for Gibson or didn’t he think we were under pressure in the 2nd half ? I’m sure the CL92 and Chris Casper will already have a list of potential managers unless Keano has a shoe in ! Crowley brothers have been mentioned, what about Richie Welles’s from Swindon as he has already been involved with Salford ! Has anybody else got some ideas on who it could be ?

We'll see if the next manager does any better... Shelts was interviewed a few months ago and he said the pressure on the players at Salford was enormous. I assume it doubles for the manager? But then anyone coming to Salford knows the expectations (of the owners....not the fans) when they sign up. I don't mind who we get. Warren Joyce is a big favourite, but I'm not sure they will take the gamble on him. I don't mind who it is, as long as he knows when to keep the pressure on and be able to grind out results when you're not playing well. You need both to win titles at this level. I'm glad you mentioned the pitch. I thought it was just me wondering why they left that awful dip after spending all that money. The class of player we have would thrive on the better pitches, so it would be to our advantage.

I really don't think it will be Keane. Why would he want the hassle, or take himself away from his punditry duties (easy money) to manage in such a pressurised environment. What would it do to his friendship with the owners if he failed? Having said all that......given his regular appearances at Salford and with him being there again on Saturday, I had to have a tenner on him, because I didn't want to have to kick myself if he was appointed. :-)

Sam Allardyce now 2nd favourite on SkyBet, not sure how his style of play would be received at Moor Lane or whether he still has the fire in his belly to succeed at this level. Richie Wellens knows this division well after winning it last season with Swindon. He is well known to Cof92 and still lives in Worsley. Think I will have a small punt.

You see. Just by sacking our manager, we climb the table. Now in 4th after tonight’s games. 😀

Roy Keane now 1/2 for the managers job. Either someone knows something or a big wedge of cash has been placed.

Appointing Keane is only going to end one way given his previous track record. If he couldn’t hack having championship level players who didn’t match his standards God knows how he would fare with L2 players. Surely other more suitable options are out there than jobs for the boys.

Scholes? 😂😂 i think someone knows.

Hola! from the sunny island of Fuerteventura to everyone back home in wet, cold Salford.😏🏖️
Not much to add to what's already been said tbh... I nearly choked on my rather large G&T when Graham made those subs on Saturday and if the decision hadn't already been made then I think that probably was the final nail in the coffin.
Let's hope the players rally round and put on a show while we await the new gaffer.
Forgive me if I'm a little distracted for the Port Vale game on Saturday tho.... I'll be sat in a bar watching the mighty Red Devils at Wembley before rushing to the airport to catch my flight home!

Not sure I buy this Keane for manager stuff. Surely they would have asked Roy before sacking GA. Why wait when Keane could just slot in.

No need to rub it in with the nice weather in the Canaries mind 😀
