I must be as childish as Gaz then based on Tangerine Dreams post The comparison with united ex play songs.... So were the united board and Fergie at the time he was there happy with the fans taking on the green and gold.... No it just created divisions...., which is what that little group on Saturday tried to do Some would argue it was Ferguson who caused the problem when he took on the the race horse owners and lost. Then they sell to you no who.

Annnd Breath I dont sing tangerine army or baz massey army or any other chant relating to our past as for me its not relevant to our current team but thats just my own opinion we all support "OUR" team as we all see fit but we dont need to bitch between ourselves, Which looks to be happening on this post and i dont think the "Scally" referance was your finest hour as it creates drama ill be honest any chant that lifts the team on the day is good for me but maybe the timing of when the older songs are chanted may rile a few as its when we're having a mare on the pitch. But we as fans should never turn our back on the history of the club its as important as anything related to Salford City. Lets have a truce and stand together in same stand or under cover hopefully and stand as one and make some noise COYA!!!

Just answer the question as to what you were expecting to gain from singing it if you were not doing it for a reaction? You even started a thread drawing attention to your little band almost pleased with yourselves! We sang it because we wanted to. Simple as that. We also chanted "Red Army", "Bernard and Jonno's Red And White Army", "Sing Up If You Love Salford". "Salford Till I Die", "We Love You Salford", "Come On Salford", "Super Scotty Burton" and "We're Having A Party If Billy Scores". None of which have been obsessed over as much as "We Are Tangerine".It was YOU who said Gary wasn't happy. No one else, so Why do you think he would be unhappy at such a "funny and harmless" chant? Has readily admitted in the recently published book "Class of '92 - Out Of Their League" that he doesn't like the colour tangerine and perhaps doesn't want that part of our history being brought up time and again. Each to their own I suppose. I neither really know or care but would perhaps suggest that you ask him yourself next time the opportunity arises.
The only people trying to be decisive are that small group. Channel your support in the right way and we could go further than ever before - we may even play Oldham one day!! Believe you me, I'm very 'decisive' when it comes to following my team.! I have barely missed a home or away game over the last nine years, have spent a small fortune in the process, have bought every kit available as well as scarves and badges and other assorted SCFC clothing, have bought club lottery and raffle tickets, have sponsored shirts as well as contributing to the bar and refreshment hut takings as well as writing articles in every matchday programme over a six year period. If that's not the right way of channeling my support then please tell me where I am going wrong. As for playing Oldham - bring it on! Would love the opportunity of putting one over them!!Oh and great come back on the spelling check. I will be more careful in the future or will eventually figure out how to turn spell check on this new Samsung Given that you were quick to pounce on me when I typed "tonight" instead of "tomorrow" in reference to the Irlam game, you shouldn't complain if somebody else picks up on a minor error. But that seems to be you, doesn't it? You're alright giving it out, but don't like it back. - Mozzer.

i dont think the "Scally" referance was your finest hour as it creates drama I called it as I saw it. Drama seems to be a bit strong. I just don't think it is on for a group of people to go and stand directly in front of another group of people completely obscuring their view. This has nothing to do with how long people in either group has been supporting the team. I wouldn't have been so discourteous if it was the other way round. To be that absorbed in your own self without regard for those around you is a form of arrogance. Their mindset was we'll go here and sod the impact it has on the people already stood here. It's downright rude.

I dont sing tangerine army or baz massey army In terms of blowing something out of proportion, which is what I think slowboat has done here, the song was "we are tangerine" with that one line sung four times on a day when we sang for the majority of the ninety minutes about the current players and managers. As for chants about Baz, he occasionally passes us at a game, so a group of people who appreciate what he did for the club over several spells spanning a number of years sing "one Barry Massay" at him out of respect and admiration for the man. I'd do the same for Martyn Andrews, Jack Redshaw, Steve Foster, Ged Murphy, Jon Robinson, Nick Robinson, Matty Burke, Tunji Moses, Matty Cross, and a number of other legends. In future years, the same will be done for Scott Burton, Jay Lynch, Steve Howson, Gareth Seddon, James Poole, et al. Like somebody else has pointed out, United fans sing the Cantona Carol and Who Put the Ball in the German's Net (Solskjaer) without fear of criticism or upsetting the players.
However, I do agree fully with you that it is best if we all unite and not bicker and bitch among ourselves. That said, I will defend myself if somebody attacks a section of the fans that I am a part of (slowboat). We've had good atmospheres with bigger away crowds of all types of supporters, so it can be done, especially when we're all together in one end. Fylde, for example.

Can we now agree to disagree? Look.... this is what a forum is for, and as long as no one gets personal it all makes for a good read.

Ive been to many a game when the baz chant has been sung and hes been nowhere near the ground let alone walking past and its always been in response to us playing pants on the pitch im all for singing chants of admiration and about old and new colours players coachs the lot. its all about timing for me but each to their own i aint falling out with anybody over a chant See you all tonight no doubt

I can't think of another time, though. That whole game was such a debacle that all sorts of stuff was being pulled out. Anyway, I'm content to leave it all here now. Like you say, no sense in everyone falling out over it.
