www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07r28s8/clipsHave to say that I'm looking forward to this Thursday's episode - the first of two - with great interest. Will certainly bring back in the main some great memories and occasionally some not great ones! I'm assuming there will be a lot more focus on Jonno and Bernard as well as our owners but I did hear somewhere that our committee members were none to keen to get involved. Will see if that's the case on Thursday night. With Manchester United away at Hull City this coming weekend and Manchester City playing on the Sunday it will be interesting to see if there is an upsurge of interest attendance wise for our home game against Gainsborough Trinity just two days after the BBC transmission. We just might need some extra pies!

Started off a bit slowly but got more interesting - particularly towards the end - when the going started to get a bit tough culminating in the home defeat by Darlington. As for "bitter rivals" I'd be more inclined to say promotion rivals as they are of no more relevance to us than any of the other teams we play although their obsession with us continues unabated. Somewhat mystified though that our home FA Cup 2nd round tie against Hartlepool was completely overlooked with the impression being given that our replay at their ground was the first and only game played between the two clubs. Other than that it was another great piece of free publicity for the club which as a result will hopefully attract a few extra spectators to this Saturday's home game.

I suppose the first leg wasn't shown because a draw isn't good telly.. But it really didn't make sense without it!

I have to say that I thought the documentary was a little underwhelming and, dare I say it, boring. I agree with TD that it did pick up towards the end around the coverage of the Darlington game, but aside from that only Howsy's personality - and he is one of the most likable people on earth - made it remotely interesting. Sequels are a problem when the original was so good. I think last year everything just fell into place with the timing of the documentary and cup run. Watching last night I just felt like it was being milked and those intrusive cameras dogging us all last season hadn't paid off, especially as the coverage of the cup run didn't convey the sense of excitement and achievement and general buzz around the club experienced by many at the time.
What I would like to see is the club put out a DVD of the cup run, if possible. Starting with the draw at home to Whitby where we were shocking in the first half and the crowd was only around 250 right through to being unlucky in defeat in front of 500 fans travelling to Hartlepool on a Tuesday. I assume we have footage and post-match interviews that belong to the club/UoS Media lot anyway, so with some good narration and a few retrospective interviews and comments added, it could be a good seller.

I must admit it's hard to follow the 1st series but let's wait and see how the 2nd part pans out ! There is such a lot that happens over a full season ! I've only been following Salford one season but I can't believe how we get so many Darlo fans slagging off the managers and players ? Why are they so obsessed with us ? I don't supposed it's got to do with the play off defeat to Rammy 4 seasons ago or Salford catching them to the title 2 seasons ago ? I wouldn't be surprised if we both finish in the top five this year !

Not to sound a grumpy sod but how did sedds get so much air time he hardly featured he's a top fella and awesome on his day but not many times on the pitch last season did he reach the heights of the season before but you can see the goal against Ashton next week being the ending

I think that's just purely because they would have focused on him as the 'star' of last time not knowing that he would only play a bit-part until the Ashton game.

Totally agree. Sequels are never as good as was proved when the BBC came down to Moor Lane to cover our FA Cup 2nd round game against Hartlepool United. It just didn't feel as exciting as the first time around when they were there for the Notts County game and in hindsight the atmosphere at the game may well proved to have been far more uplifting without the intrusion of the cameras being there a second time. What I would like to see is the club put out a DVD of the cup run, if possible. Starting with the draw at home to Whitby where we were shocking in the first half and the crowd was only around 250 right through to being unlucky in defeat in front of 500 fans travelling to Hartlepool on a Tuesday. I've raised the subject of souvenir DVD's in the past and given that we've had the full weight of Salford Universities media department involved with the club during our two promotion seasons as well as our record breaking FA Cup run, I find it mind boggling that nothing has been produced to remind us of the fantastic times that we've all enjoyed in our recent history.

I really enjoyed the show last night. The missing first game against Hartlepool was baffling but I could see why Seds was so involved again, as he was the feature of the first, and they'd want to show how his story pans out.
Interesting to see that we did struggle to recruit due to clubs thinking they could ramp up prices because it was us. It was also good to see many opposition fans talking about our 'thug' managers. So much jealousy out there.
It was just harmless fun. I thought it was funny in places and I think it will win us a few more fans who want to watch good football. I don't think we need to critique this too deeply. Enjoyable and I look forward to the next one.

I thought tonight's second episode was much more interesting and watchable than last weeks programme. There was a genuine feel of frustration when things weren't going our way and I thought the final game against Workington managed to convey the change in moods on the day particularly well. Delighted for Gaz Seddon on the night he scored the screamer against Ashton United in the semi-final and more so having seen the difficult season that he had to endure from the sidelines. Will definitely go down as one of Salford's best given the quality and quantity of goals he scored during our championship season. Great also to see and hear what the game means to both Bernard and Jonno whose passion can never be doubted. Long may they continue!
