we've decided to get the tram to bury, then the steam train to rammy
proper away day travel :-)

Take care Mr Wanderers - i thought you were on the tram to Bury to catch the steam train on East Lancs when you last posted. Don't go to Eccles. When I went with the Darlo it was a Diesel Gala weekend. Not a steam loco in sight. Make time to get a pint in the Irwell Works Brewery - only a couple of minutes from the station.

It's where the tram to Bury departs my little Darlo friend. Cheers for the tip about the brewery, we may give it a go although my travelling companions are more Holt's boozers than real ales

I think the proximity of Moor Lane to Prestwich meant that i envisaged you heading off to Eccles from there. Should have guessed that you need not actually reside close to the ground.
