Spennymoor Town moved to within four points of the top five in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North after earning a last-gasp win against mid-table Kendal Town at the Brewery Field on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
In front of a crowd of 428, Moors were unable to break down their Cumbrian visitors until first half stoppage time when Shane Henry drove the ball through a crowded penalty area and past keeper Danny McDonald.
Kendal levelled just three minutes after the break through Jamie Colebourn but Spennymoor had two efforts cleared off the line as they laid siege to the Mintcakes looking for a winner. The goal eventually came in stoppage time, Joe Tait heading into the back of the net following a corner to make it 2-1.
