A great match report as always, and hits the nail right on the head. 3 points are always welcome, as is a clean sheet. It's also a sign of a good team, when we can still win games when not at their best. But we will need to improve if we are to maintain our title challenge. We are scoring again but we still look fragile at the back. I've been a critic of Lynchy once or twice, but they guy was amazing yesterday. He mopped up everything and was MoM without a doubt.

Agree with Chris regarding improvements required to maintain our promotion push. Lynchy was outstanding at the back although Aaron Walters showed again that not many players get the better of him on one to one's or when it comes for sprinting for the ball. Having said that Burscough punctured our defensive formation on too many occasions for my liking and I wonder what the outcome might have been had we been facing the likes of Darlington. The penalty kick was predictable and it either needs to be varied in the future or give it to another player to take. Fortunately we were able to recover from that miss - just about - but it could have proved very costly otherwise. Some decent movement along the flanks from the likes of Sam Madeley and Matt Chadwick who looked dangerous every time he got the ball and looks a very decent signing for us. Somewhat disappointed again though with Danny Webber who might just benefit from his impending 3 match suspension and I'm sure that the onlooking Gary Neville would have something to say about the lack of quality regarding the crosses produced by both full-backs who again struggled to get the ball past the first line of defence. Gareth Seddon continues to have to create his own openings and I'd dearly like to see him have players around him who could supply him with decent openings for him to capitalise on. We still don't hunt in packs or break quickly like other tams appear to do and rely to much on flashes of individual brilliance. With further individuals being targetted as potential additions to the squad it will hopefully not be too long before we can see an improvement in our overall play. Having said that, despite some of our shortcomings it was still pleasing to take maximum points and to keep a clean sheet with debutant keeper Danny Lloyd-Weston impressing with two particularly outstanding close range stops as well as being pleasingly vocal with his co-defenders.

Yes, I should have mentioned Walters, who also did well. We definitely improved when Chadwick came on.

It was definitely a game of gaining 3pts. The performance overall isn't much too shout about, but there were some individual performances of those already mentioned previously. We need 8/9 players putting a performance in to show a good team performance.
Didn't see much wrong in the penalty given to us, I'd have to see the highlights as I was watching the ball and not players moving in the box.
Hey ho, 3 pts and a clean sheet!! Can't ask more than that! On to Ramsbottom!
