So as long as they don't do it again, they get off with nothing? I wonder if that would happen to a team not expecting promotion. There are precedents in just about every league going, for a points deduction. The league well and truly bottled it. I think it is well known that the league wants shut of Darlington asap and the negative publicity that a number of their 'fans' attract on a semi-regular basis. Deducting points off them would not fit in with that agenda and would possibly condemn them to another season under the Evo-Stik brand name. Can you imagine if we had been in their position and let off with a caution then their forum would have gone into complete and total meltdown and we would have been accused of bribing the FA, the League and very possibly the Government itself! Considering also their seemingly unhealthy obsession with our club it's interesting to note that not one single comment has been made about our performance at Hartlepool or indeed that of their closest and most disliked neighbours on the Darlo Uncovered Fans Forum. I'm pretty certain if it had been anyone else other than ourselves who had taken Hartlepool to the wire there would have been a multiple page thread deriding Hartlepool as well as applauding their opponents for their magnificent effort!

NPL statement “After considering the evidence and submissions by the club a sanction imposed by the Northern Premier League is as follows:-
“Darlington 1883 Football Club were found guilty as charged with the maximum 12 points gained, whilst playing the ineligible player, being deducted from the club’s playing record. This sanction will be suspended until the end of the current playing season and will not be implemented subject to no further charges under Rule 6.9. In addition, the club has been fined in accordance to Rule.”
Now it seems Darlo getting no points deducted . Does this mean teams can play ineligible players?

Seems so? This player must have been instrumental in their wins, because they played him in every game and they gained full points in those games?
But the league have now given licence to any other club to do this. Say we did it in 3 games. How can they punish us any more than they did Darlington. Like I've said before, if it was a team with little to lose, they'd have been deducted points. Because they are fighting for promotion, th league bottled it.
