This weekend the Ammies travel to Swindon Town's County Ground looking to extend their five match unbeaten run under new gaffer Karl Robinson which sees us equal top with Newport County on current league form having taken 11 points from a last possible 15. Opponents Swindon Town presently live two places and three points ahead of us in the league table albeit with a seven goal goal difference advantage and it's interesting to note that outside the top seven they are the division's highest scorers with 53 goals while on the other hand they've conceded an equally many 56 goals. The Robins will be looking to improve on a disappointing two wins, one draw and seven defeats from their last 10 games but with three players in double goal scoring figures (Daniel Kemp and Jake Young on 16 and Charlie Austin on 10) we'll need to be at our very best defensively if we're to continue our own rich vein of form. Safe journey to all those making the trip and I'll see you next Tuesday night v Doncaster Rovers.

Jake Young is at Bradford pal, so one less to think about.

Interested to see that Harry Mckirdy is back at Swindon again, on loan. Remember him? An entertaining character. He can be trouble for the opposition defence. And for himself.

Three games in quick succession and there is a prospect we could be on 40pts+. Saturday feels the most banana skin like, Doncaster will be dependent on Saturday and Barrow is always a tough game and throws up all kinds of results especially at Moor Lane.
Both teams will be very different to the reverse fixture at our place which was one of the most frustrating of performances in the first half of the season. I have a feeling KR may match up with their 4-3-3, especially with the form of Luamba and Smith currently. Paul Glatzel has been a big threat for them off the right since he arrived on loan, so if fit I would expect Shep - who was the catalyst for us pushing on and assisting Humbles to score the 95th minute equaliser back in October, to start at RB and John and Garbutt to be on the left. Swindon have a number of players I like - Hepburn-Murphy is lively, Schade and on his day McKirdy is so positive in attack you do worry when he gets on the ball at this level - terrible hair though.
Similar to last week this feels like a real test, but if we get momentum Saturday for the back to back home games I think we break the bubble of teams above us and potentially find ourselves middle of the pack. Start fast like we did against Wrexham - I am saying 3-2 Ammies! UTA!

Confidence must be sky high after recent results and KR seems to have toughened up the attitude when we concede goals which would have seen us collapse earlier in the season. I'm going for another score draw to match the result at Moor Lane, 1-1 or possibly 2-2 again.

... Please, Chip, any talk of 'draws' must desist.

Not at all happy that I can't be at Swindon today (it clashed with an appointment, that I couldn't miss, at Hope Hospital for a minor medical procedure). So... can I request that anyone reading this who's at the match today please make some extra noise on my behalf! I'm sure our team will play with even more determination if they get the kind of support from our fans that they got at the Wrexham game. And I know our younger heroes, Kelly and Junior, will particularly benefit from the absolute maximum vocal encouragement that today's away Ammies can belt out! And will we get our new drummer through the turnstiles today, I wonder? I'll be reduced to listening to Will Moorcroft's (albeit it very lively) commentary over a tablet, indoors... with only a few cans of Guinness to keep me company. But I'll still be shouting out my 100%-committed support from back home here in Salford.
"Come on Salford You can do this. One last push." Good luck everybody. UTA.
PS: Keep a close marking on that tricky Harry McKirdy.

Get in Callum Hendry you beauty! A decent point in the circumstances. 6 games unbeaten and the carrot crunchers go into meltdown on their forum!

Well as someone predicted, a 1-1 draw to extend our unbeaten run to 6. We didn't play that well but we showed fight to come back and equalise late on. The bottom 4 all lost too so we're that bit further away from danger. Roll on next week with 2 home games at Moor Lane.

Well, sadly, YOU WERE (err... but only just, I believe ) RIGHT!, Chip. From the mental picture that I was getting from Will's commentary, I gathered that were it not for some fantastic goalkeeping from Alex Cairns, and some sterling hard work by Theo, the final scoreline could well have looked a little ugly for Salford. Well done 'Hendry to the rescue.' Maybe today we were perhaps just a little over confident from last Saturday's show game, eh?
Ne'er mind, I'm sure that Doncaster won't get so much of their own way as Swindon, come Tuesday's game. (Top) hats off to the 80 Ammies who made the trip down; and held their own when up against the barracking might of 8,192 Swindon fans.

I love the way KR tells it. Love how he tells it like it is. Compare with NW whose interviews bore no relation to what actually happened most of the time
