This Friday sees the Ammies looking to record only their third home league win of the season having last secured all three points back on 7th October when Crewe Alexandra were beaten 4-2 while Colchester United arrive at Moor Lane under the newly appointed management duo of brothers Danny and Nicky Cowley who are in charge for their third game having previously drawn against Bradford City and Swindon Town after falling behind in both games. With ourselves in 21st place and Colchester in 22nd, just two points separate us although the U's have played one game more so the significance of the outcome couldn't be more important. Our visitors have won three and lost 10 of their 14 away games having last tasted success away from home on 28th October at Accrington Stanley but more telling is their overall record against ourselves. In 9 league meetings between our two clubs they've won six, there's been two draws with our solitary win going back to season 2021/22 in October when we left their ground with a 2-0 victory and to compound just how awful our record is, the U's have always been either in or just above the relegation zone every time we've met! Had we not had a change of manager in the last fortnight I wouldn't have been at all optimistic of a positive result but the complete change in style of play as well as the overall atmosphere and spirit in the club makes me very confident of seeing that long overdue home win on Friday night.

We won away at Crawley for the first time last week so the hoodoo thing is there to be broken. Provided KR can manage 90 minutes in the dugout 😂 I'll say it'll be our first home win for over 3 months. Weather permitting of course

Hardly surprising in the circumstances.

The forecast for the first few days of next week looks extremely soggy indeed. I fear Tuesday night at Bradford might be at risk of a 2nd postponement

The forecast for the first few days of next week looks extremely soggy indeed. I fear Tuesday night at Bradford might be at risk of a 2nd postponement I was already thinking this particularly as Bradford City's pitch isn't the best in the division.
