Well it’s now 1038 on Wednesday and he’s still here.
I’m worried it isn’t going to happen. 😔😔😔

Today feels a low as it gets. I like Neil. I really wanted it to work for him but it just hasn’t. I’m not sure what the issue is and I guess it’s not a simple as pinning it all on Neil. Player recruitment has been a worry for some time. Maybe the issues around the ground, training facilities is still problematic? I honestly wished they’d given Jonno and Bernard more time back in the day. Also Wellens too. It felt there was more to run with Jonno and Bernard. This time does feel like the right time. Where do we go from here though? I’d like to see some vertical changes right through the structure. I suppose you can say the rot stared to set in When Jonno and Bernard got sacked, straight after a promotion. By the time Alexander and Wellens has been sacked it was truly rotten, from which we have never recovered.

If they were so bad, why do so many of their ex-players want to keep playing for them? We’ll never know if they’d have succeeded, but can you imagine the dressing room with those two in charge of our current crop? Wellens and Bowyer in particular have both proved they have what it takes, by succeeding elsewhere. Bowyer came in at a bad point and almost got us into the playoffs with just his man-management. I won’t forget GNs comments when put on the spot by Sky, saying at Salford we sack our managers at the top. Joke or not, what a stupid thing to say. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this moment marks a change in how then club is run and the owners detach themselves from too much involvement in the playing side and sort out the ground.

I’m sure the owners would argue it’s not exactly a rot (promotions, Wembley etc) however I know what you mean. Feels like that moment in time (parting with J & B) was significant. They’re going well at Radcliffe and I wish them well. I guess we must look forward. I just hope the owners take stock, evaluate and avoid past mistakes with recruitment (staff and players). From outside looking in, Mr Casper seems to be living a charmed life.

I’m less angry with Caspar than I used to be. He’s just doing the owners bidding. If they aren’t liking what he’s doing, they could get rid. But he must (in their eyes) be doing exactly what they want.
