Hi guys, I'm a Falkirk fan and there was an article in the Daily record yesterday about our best player Callumn Morrison being linked to you guys. It is the daily record so unsure of the validity. Wanted to touch base here and see if anyone had heard anything?
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome. I've personally not heard anything about this and nobody I know has either. We're crying out for a goal scorer and some pace up front but looking at his scoring record I don't think he's an out and out striker. We have bought from Scotland before (Calum Hendry and Connor McLennan) but no disrespect they were from higher divisions than Falkirk. I reckon speculation rather than much truth

Having said that, don't we normally go for strikers who don't have prolific scoring records with Adam Rooney (from Aberdeen) being the notable last exception!

No just sloppy wording. We're very one dimensional and could definitely do with someone with a different skill set to share the load and vary our play a bit.

If Matt Smith gets injured then we're well and truly screwed what with Callum Hendry (long term injured) and Curtis Tilt (defender) our next most 'prolific' scorers with three goals each to their credit!

Exactly, Chip. As was evidenced at Gillingham last Saturday. Once Matt Smith (I can't take to that 'Smudge' sobriquet) had reliably done his job, we offered precious little else in that game.

Callumn is more of a winger and as youve stated plays at a lower level than the players you've signed, hence the reaosn I was surprised at the link. He has the pace however and on his day could easily play at even Scottish Premiership level. A bit too inconsistent though hence why he is in the 3rd tier with us. I hope it is just paper talk however as we need him for our title push! Thanks again. Good luck for the season.

Stockport fan here
No rumour in it but we are in need of a couple of midfielders in January and I've been a fan of watts for a few years. Is his contract up in summer?
He's been injured abit this season but normally always been available but how has he been when he's played this season? Do you reckon if you got an offer for him you'd sell because if it's true (based on this forum a few weeks ago you're owners aren't as interested anymore) you'd be willing to take some money in January than lose him for free in summer if he is out of contract that is

Watt will leave and I think he’d have a decent pick of most L2 clubs, but if clubs higher up know about him, he won’t stay in L2. Whether a team at the top of L2 would tempt him, I don’t know? He may aim higher. But we are notorious for having weak release clauses in players contracts. In terms of how he’s played…..I don’t think he’s as good as he was before his injury, but he’s playing in a team that’s performing poorly. Some of US think the owners are losing interest, but that’s just our take on it. I think Gary Neville has, but the other owners still attend

Watt was linked with several Championship clubs at the beginning of the summer but missed substantial time with a non-football medical problem.
I agree with Chris that Watt this season does not compare to last year. It could be missing the pre-season and the beginning of the season, the overall drop in play of those around him, or perhaps last season was an outlier.
Our January business is difficult to predict as 5 of our next 7 are against teams 22nd, 21st, 18th, 23rd, and 22nd (again) We could fall into a relegation battle or jump up the table.
I believe Watt will try to find a higher league but if Stockport is comfortably 1st in the table it is possible. He recently became father to a 2nd baby so choosing a local team that doesn't require moving family may have an appeal.
A more likely transfer would be Bailey staying on a permanent deal. I've heard rumours of Bailey being happy there

I've heard rumours of Bailey being happy there yeah, Bailey is happy here and performing well and a permanent deal is very likely. We have used him as a energetic cm and he does well there getting into the right areas and pressing well. Ibou touray has been poor albeit he's got a few assists. Before the Sutton game his last 3 games he managed 1 successful cross in 25 attempts and he can't use his right foot. Barry was exceptional and imo the best player in the league. If we had him available we would be 10 points clear at the top and he'd be top goalscorer in the league. His ability to beat a man (or 3) was something I've never seen at this level of the game. Unbelievable player who I hope we can try and attrack on a permanent deal if we get promoted. Going back to watt I feel like the Salford lads will tell him about the club and hopefully he may see us as a good one (again there is no rumour just a player I like).

Started off with promise for us and then just drifted off making less impact game by game although I still felt he had something to offer in the long runIbou touray has been poor albeit he's got a few assists. Before the Sutton game his last 3 games he managed 1 successful cross in 25 attempts and he can't use his right foot. Had to laugh at Stockport's forum when you signed Touray as many seemed to regard it as a great coup to be taking one of our 'better' players off us! We definitely got his best years but for the last two seasons his performances got worse game by game due to his inability to cross, not being able to use his right leg, his constant back pedalling and his overall poor defensive positioning.Barry was exceptional and imo the best player in the league. If we had him available we would be 10 points clear at the top and he'd be top goalscorer in the league. His ability to beat a man (or 3) was something I've never seen at this level of the game. Unbelievable player who I hope we can try and attrack on a permanent deal if we get promoted. I was absolutely gutted when Barry went because he is definitely a game changer and had he played the whole of the second leg of the promotion play off game at Edgeley Park last season then it would have been us in the final at Wembley. We never played him often enough to save paying out appearance money which obviously p*ssed him and Aston Villa off as well as myself! Going back to watt I feel like the Salford lads will tell him about the club and hopefully he may see us as a good one (again there is no rumour just a player I like). As stated elsewhere he hasn't been anywhere near as impressive this season but then again neither has what's been around him! I'd be inclined to cash in as we need virtually a whole new team next season if we're to make any real progress.
