Looks like Jordan Turnbull has declined a new contract and has left the club. Not seen anything either way but if true it’s a big loss in my opinion. L2 team of the year CB, he will get offers in L1/2. With Turnbull I thought overall he was pretty solid but his judgement of balls in the air was something I felt plagued him at times last season. Having to create a new centre half partnership on the fly will have its teething problems but I felt Jordan’s ceiling was a tad too limited overall.

Looks like Jordan Turnbull has declined a new contract and has left the club. Completely agree with you there. I felt our fortunes turned around once Eastham slipped out of first team contention. As a partnership I thought Ash and Turnbull weren’t good for each other where as Theo (apart from the odd bit of needless over exuberance) made us much more solid there.

Not sure how you think a defence with Eastman and Vassell is upgraded on Corrie and Turnbull or Turnbull Vassell. That comment will look mental if he ends up in L1.

Well with only 3 weeks until the start of the season I'm getting a bit worried at the lack of incoming players. Our squad is very thin and lacking even basic choices in some areas such as central defence and wide midfield, never mind a lack of cover right across the board in all areas. Unless we see a sudden influx of out of contract players in the next week or so I think we're looking at a load of kids coming in on loan. I wonder if our constant manager churn is having an impact on players' willingness to join us? Or maybe the purse strings have been tightened? Whatever the reason our squad looks a long way off promotion material as it stands. Agree on the lack of depth in wide areas and centre back. Unfortunately people in this thread saw it coming - and what makes it worse is how much quality from the National League , L2 and L1 was available this summer compounds the problem. Luke Molyneux, Callum O’Dowda (long shot), Davis Keillor Dunn are a few who could’ve been got on free’s. I think the Elliot Watt and Mallon deals looks good from various reports online. Hendry - I am reserving judgement on til I see him in the flesh, but my issue is when you look at Ross Doohan, Dom Telford, Reece Devine, Anthony Hartigan and Nesta Guinness-Walker have left AFC Wimbledon, George Moncur all moving around or into this division the Salford squad on paper looks way off. I heard the club have been using a couple of 3rd party’s to a scout and connect with players and agents, this is presumably due to Strong leaving and recruitment being left to Casper. All that on top of searching for a new manager clearly will of spread Casper and the chairwomen too thin and now it’s amateur hour again. You seem to have a lot of opinions and 'inside' knowledge that not even club staff know or aware of - perhaps before throwing out "amateur hour " slights you consider that maybe you aren't being as well informed as you think. Yes Greg Strong left, but he didn't work on his own, we have a team of people who work on recruitment and - for the record, contrary to speculation - players aren't just signed based on one person's opinion, it's agreed upon across the board after extensive research. And also, Karen is Chairman, not 'chairwomen'.

Just saying. <insert opinions are like a******es everyone has one line where applicable> No need to be that patronising but I’ll indulge. Greg Strong wasn’t working alone - Well that’s a shock, I know how a business works especially one with multiple departments like recruitment… *apologies for the double dose of sarcasm in this response all friends here.

Tylor Golden has signed for Halifax Town. Will be interesting to see how he gets on there. Permanent? A big loss if so. Deserved to play more games than he did.

I have seen nothing on Turnbull since he was a potential for Bristol Rovers. I hope he stays as I rate him. Conscious of having too much of an opinion on here in case communications Moorcroft tries to dig me out again.

Josh "sick note" Morris has left by mutual consent. Have to say I wasn't impressed with him but my word we are short on numbers

So….I can’t remember how many players we released and we had, I think, two players going back after loan. Since then, we’ve signed 3 players and lost another 2. Is this correct? So a net of just 1 player in.
Less than 3 weeks to kick off. If they ain’t here now, they’re either not coming or coming in late so that once again, we’ll have this bedding-in period, which is where we lost the league last season.
It’s looking very ‘same old’ isn’t it?
