I hear another secret fans forum has been held. Apparently those who were here before the takeover were invited....no, they clearly weren’t. A few newbies there and people like myself who were there a few seasons before the takeover not invited. All told to say nothing to the rest of the fans, I think because it was filmed and will come out in the next documentary to show Gary ‘listening’ to the fans. 🙄 But a few seem pretty smug on Facebook, having been invited.
a few reasons given why it was secret, short notice, invited attendance only. Good reasons I’m sure, what it doesn’t explain is why the same people get invited to every single one. Gary Neville seems to be a clever and rational man, but boy, does he get things so wrong at times.
Am I bitter? Yes, a little. Don’t pretend you are listening to the fans when your not. When you’re inviting a carefully selected audience who you can trust to be onside.

Yes I've read the posts on Fakebook, there are a few grumbles in amongst the gloating, mainly along the lines you've mentioned. Customer forums/focus groups are restrictive by their very nature as you're limited by numbers as much as anything. In my pre retirement line of work we did loads of customer engagement and to be honest we'd do anything but face to face meetings for the reasons you mentioned ie poor attendance, lack of challenge, the same old faces from the same demographic so we tried to be much more creative. Things such as very quick online surveys, outbound calling, virtual feedback groups, drop ins, the list goes on and on. Cast your net more widely and actively seek out those who will challenge and critique what you're doing is the way to do it. There's loads of good examples out there, I'd suggest GN makes a point of going and speaking to them and getting some ideas.

GN being clever here, have a 'fans' forum, invite 45 trusted fans and then allow them to leak out the info to the rest of the fans. There does seem to be some gap between GN's ideas for 50% fans on boards with the 50 or so Ammie fans who are privy to actual info from the horses mouths. Be interesting to see if the plans for actual democratic fans involvement do surface. Not sure why an edited version of the 'forum' could not be put out on-line, not exactly state secrets are they? Two snippets I have heard on the grapevine, the owners have put in £17m so far (with Mr Lim coughing up £10m of that), and that GN regrets sacking GA ! Obviously this is just gossip LOL

Obviously this is just gossip LOL I suspect if there’s anything confidential in there, they wouldn’t have even told the ‘trusted’ fans. It seems to be for the cameras mainly, hence the tame audience. I don’t see any democratic input from the fans and if there were, it would be on stuff that doesn’t really affect the running of the club. If you’d put in £17m, would you let the oiks decide anything serious? But it sounds great for the cameras. I wasn’t a GA fan, but timing of his sacking suggested a knee-jerk reaction. But it’s his club and he can do what he likes. He promised it wasn’t going to be that type of club....but it is.
