Hopefully a good turnout tomorrow night for this one - particularly as it seems ages ago since the last 1st team fixture. I'm really looking forward to this game and hopefully progressing through to the next round.

Two goals from Mani Ogunrinde at the end of each half gave Salford a deserved 2-1 win over a decent Warrington Town side to book their place in the 3rd Qualifying Round draw this coming Friday. Playing wise honours were just about even in the 1st half with the Ammies tending to lose their way in the final third of the pitch until Ogunrinde popped up with literally just a minute of the half remaining. Warrington levelled on 53 minutes and for a while looked dangerous until the home side finally took control of the proceedings with a series of threatening attacks that continued to fall just short of the mark. With extra time looming that man Mani produced a little big of magic by cutting in and slotting a shot under the keeper to put the young Ammies deservedly through to the next round. Another enjoyable night and credit to both sides for putting in 100% effort throughout.

Couldn't get to the game tonight but always happy to see the youth team doing well. Did we have any stand out performers? Sounds like Manny has done well again!

How big was the crowd TD? Got to say I was somewhat surprised and disappointed with the official attendance of 133, particularly as there had been no 1st team game at the weekend. Hopefully if we are home in the next round we'll see a marked improvement on the crowd as the lads certainly deserve it.

One or two stood out for me but whose names unfortunately escape me as it always takes me a while to get familiar with certain players names. I think a number of the lads will probably think - and know - that they can play a little better than they did but ultimately it was all about the collective performance. It was pleasing to see us get stronger during the second half as we took a firm grip on the game which suggests the fitness level of the team is always going to be a big plus point.

Hopefully they will start to get a following if they keep doing well.
