Given most of the prospective promotion candidates recent efforts at doing their best NOT to grab a play off place - and this includes Stockport County's surprise 1-1 draw at home to Telford United last night - it is at least comforting to know that our destiny still lays in our own hands. Assuming Darlington finish in the top 5 then 6th place would be good enough. If not then we have to obviously finish in 5th place to guarantee a two legged semi-final. The only consolation of late is that we still enjoy a much better goal difference than four of our nearest rivals. Now all we have to do is start winning again!
The table as it stands Saturday a.m. 15th April ....
1 - AFC Fylde P 39 GD 44 Points 81 (Max 90)
2 - Kidderminster Harriers P 39 GD 30 Points 75 (Max 84)
3 - Halifax Town P 39 GD 30 Points 71 (Max 80)
4 - Chorley P 39 GD 20 Points 70 (Max 79)
5 - Salford City P 39 GD 29 Points 68 (Max 77)
6 - Stockport County P 39 GD 16 Points 68 (Max 77)
7 - Darlington P 38 GD 20 Points 67 (Max 79)
8 - Brackley Town P 38 GD 16 Points 63 (Max 75)

Thanks TD. Also it's comforting to know that Halifax and Chorley both can't hit their maximum points tally due to playing one another, as such its still in our hands! On a separate note, as supporters there is naturally a negative vibe about reaching the playoffs due to the way we are currently playing. But if you go on any of the other playoff rivals forums they're all saying the same things.

2 results this afternoon affecting the positions at the top of the table as at 5:00 pm Sunday 15th April:
Alfreton Town 0 Darlington 3 FC United 1 Brackley Town 2
1 - AFC Fylde P 39 GD 44 Points 81 (Max 90) Mon 16/4 - Home v Bradford Park Avenue
2 - Kidderminster harriers P 39 GD 30 Points 75 (Max 84) Mon 16/4 - Away v Altrincham
3 - Halifax Town P 39 GD 30 Points 71 (Max 80) Mon 16/4 - Away v Harrogate Town
4 - Darlington P 39 GD 23 Points 70 (Max 79) Mon 16/4 - Home v FC United of Manchester
5 - Chorley P 39 GD 20 Points 70 (Max 79) Mon 16/4 - Away v Stalybridge Celtic
6 - Salford City P 39 GD 29 Points 68 (Max 77) Mon 16/4 - Home v Curzon Ashton
7 - Stockport County P 39 GD 16 Points 68 (Max 77) Mon 16/4 - Away v Worcester City
8 - Brackley Town P 39 GD 19 Points 66 (Max 75) Mon 16/4 - Home v Gainsborough Trinity
Worcester, Gainsborough and Stalybridge all fighting desperately to avoid relegation will mean no easy games for their opponents while Halifax will face a tough task at Harrogate in their Yorkshire derby. Our opponents Curzon have no pressure on them and will naturally be looking to spoil our party. Would expect Fylde to clinch the league title and Darlo and Kiddy to both win their respective games - but given the crazy results we've seen in recent weeks nothing is nailed on!
