I've just had a quick chat with Will who does the programme. He seems keen on the idea of promoting coach travel via social media and so will speak to Andy G about it. I referred him to Andy G's post on the other thread about coach travel to Telford.
I agree with the sentiment expressed on that thread that we need definitive arrangements and prices in advance to allow the club to promote properly. A sign up sheet along with non-refundable deposits is also a must, for me, and it should be primarily about watching the team not how many pubs we can go to (though a few small concessions on that front would obviously be fine if it helped fill a coach - within reason, of course).

This is the game that Darlo are planning to move into there new stadium This certainly appears to be the case according to a lot of their supporters on their fans forum although it's by no means a done deal and there's actually no mention at all at this stage when their new ground is likely to open on their official club website.
If it was to be their official ground opening how good would it be to be the 'party poopers' on the day!

Be aware that this is a Darlington fan that you are responding to. Fishing may be in progress; don't take the bait.

I'm going to start asking supporters this weekend at Telford to commit themselves to coach travel to Darlo. A definite answer one way or the other would be appreciated so that we can start putting plans into place.

Mozzer, I regularly go on the 'Darlo Uncovered Forum' and it is a fact that they are targetting us as their first opponents at their 'new' Blackwell Meadows ground. It looks very much like Bishop Auckland's Hertitage Park ground and it would appear that we will be put in the open end at the mercy of the elements again! Some joker even suggested that 50 tickets would be more than sufficient for our allocation.

If this is Darlington's first game in a new home I guess it would be made all ticket and not sure how many tickets would be given to Salford

I am not on social media myself but do check the twitter account for the club.
Not sure if I am key demographic but twitter would be my usual source of information about the club.... And travel (if I wasn't on here).
Given our recent home crowds and recent away crowds... 29+ doesn't seem to much
I do think that confirmed arrangements are a must though:
-departure time -departure location -pickup locations (Preswich) -Expected arrival time (may meet the requirements for those wanting a drink) -expected departure time (see above, plus chatting with the players after the game in the club bar, sometimes adds to the cost of the day - and makes up if we haven't won)
I don't think we have enough support outside this forum that go to the match just for the actual football without having to appeal to the none football aspects..... Yet!
Have the club considered using key resources already established at moor lane to push/promote these type of trips??? If certain people were involved, straight away there would be 10-15 lads traveling outside the regulars

I think we are on different points though. I meant not enough come on here to make up the away numbers and was saying Twitter may be better to advertise the travel.... That and Facebook.... Plus people like Buck and yourself

I think its been asked before... but maybe we seek approval about advertising the forum in the programme?
That way more people know that the forum exists and therefore could use the forum as a hub for travel.
