You'd have to say that after a dreadful first half display we'd have happily settled for a point after creating next to nothing other than a stinging shot from outside the area from Matty Warburton that was equally impressively turned away for a corner. That came a minute after Brackley had taken the lead following a couple of fortuitous ricochets that ended with a deflected effort coming off Billy Priestley's outstretched leg following a last ditch attempt at stopping the shot. Other than that incident and a 30 second burst of activity just before the half-time break there was precious little to enthuse over after an abject first half performance that lacked quality, cohesion and skill.
The introduction of John Johnston and Richie Allen certainly had the desired effect of raising both their team mates as well as the 1072 crowd - of which there were no more than a dozen from Brackley - as we finally played with purpose and greater threat which was illustrated with great effect when a well struck cross from JJ was turned in by Mike Phenix from relatively close range. It was the strikers first goal in 5 games and will hopefully inspire him to start scoring again but I really would like to see him making a far more serious effort at challenging for the ball in aerial duels. Brackley always looked dangerous on the break but they'll be thanking their keeper for a couple of excellent saves that was ultimately instrumental in them extending our winless run of league games to four.
The absence of James Poole - for whatever reason - really showed and although the dual substitution was an inspired one we need to get back our early season sparkle and to hopefully rediscover our goal scoring form as well with just four goals produced in as many games over the last fortnight

we was very lucky to get a point against a much better team today, but that's football.
i'm sure we'll hit top gear again very soon.

First half was very poor.... cant say much about it. The start of the 2nd half was far better as it usually is, they were a good time and well organised.
The team doesn't concern me too much, we will hit top form again, what does concern me is the queues once again for catering.
A massive cabin that has opened once maybe twice, fast bar that i didnt see open yesterday.
The main supporters will grin and bear the queues "sometimes", however if we want to entice new fans/families down to moor lane then we need to ensure their visit is mermorable for the righr reasons, and not because they spent 20 mins for a brew.
Not sure how we still cant get this right. Nobody wants to queue 20 minutes for anything, 5 mins at the very maximum for all refreshements.
RANT OVER.... FOR NOW!

The way I saw it, they didn't stop us playing, we didn't turn up and that allowed them to play. The first half was one of the poorest I've seen. We couldn't string two passes together without losing the ball, and often when under no pressure. That wasn't a result of pressure from a good team, it was just us being poor. But the half time talked worked and we came out fired up. Both keepers earned their wages yesterday, as we finally made him work and they in turn came back at us. Good that we got a point in the end. It was a fair result over the 90 minutes I think. But I did expect more and if we had turned up in the first half, who knows. But we learn with every game and I'm sure the lads will improve.

Not sure why we are inviting external concessions into the ground and not working on getting the fast bar and the other stall open? The club may get revenue from the concessions, but the concessions only pay because they believe they can pay for their pitch and still make a profit. That means the club themselves would make even more (no pitch to pay for) if they ran it themselves. The club MUST do more on this. They are losing money hand over fist, by not running their own stands and because so many people (we hear them all around us) saying they are not getting a drink or snack because they refuse to queue up for 20 minutes and more, for a pint. People expect to be able to get a drink and a pie and not queue forever to get it. For many of us, we are here no matter what. But families want 'the experience'. They want to come to a safe place for an afternoons football and they expect to be able to get drinks for the kids and snacks and not miss half the game.

One concurs with all the above, for much of the first 45 mins we were second best to a decent outfit. The second half we were much better with sustained periods of pressure that sadly we could not convert into the second goal. One is not sure of our best XI yet and maybe the managers are figuring this out to. The wounded seem to be returning but one guesses that as fans we would find consensus on maybe eight or so players in that first XI, then the other three would change from person to person. Which all leads one to answer the question posed; probably a point gained.
In terms of the catering one believes we need to give the club a bit of space, the pop up tents/ stalls/ gazebos, call them what you will seem to work okay, though yesterday the one on the far side (Moor Lane/ Car Park corner) was not there. One can understand the club not wanting to make anything permanent whilst in a process, albeit early stages of redeveloping the ground. So long as folk can get a drink, snack whatever else they need within a few minutes one believes they would be happy.

That means the club themselves would make even more (no pitch to pay for) if they ran it themselves. The food/drink stand to the left hand side of the Nevile Road grandstand is a Class of '92 owned outlet and I believe that there are more planned once the ground developments have taken place although I understand that these are not now due to commence till December. I'm presuming that some if not a large percentage of any takings would then be passed onto the club? The 'issues' surrounding the Moor Lane refreshment hut appear to be ongoing for the time being but it clearly isn't doing us any favours with it remaining closed while large queues elsewhere appear to be the norm. The club MUST do more on this. They are losing money hand over fist, by not running their own stands and because so many people (we hear them all around us) saying they are not getting a drink or snack because they refuse to queue up for 20 minutes and more, for a pint. I usually get to the ground by 1:15 pm when obtaining food and drink really isn't a problem but can fully understand peoples frustrations who arrive both later and perhaps from long distance. These days I'm more than likely to bring my own food in should I feel the need for a bite to eat later in the game but that really shouldn't have to be the case if we want both our beleagured bar and tea hut staff to be able to cope with our now customary 1000 plus crowds.

It'd be hard to call it two points dropped other than for the reason that a team would obviously want to be winning their home games. We didn't do enough to win yesterday, especially in that dire first half.
That said, we looked much improved in the second half, and but for three excellent saves from their goalie we might have scored more than one. Of course, Jay made a great save at the other end, so it might have gone the other way, too. Like Mr. Bacon, I don't think Brackley were fantastic or anything, but they were fairly well organised. It's a tough league and we definitely need to step it up if we want to be challenging the top five come April, although we're still in the mix and did at least pick something up yesterday despite not playing well.
I'm more concerned about the absence of Pooley! Also, Warburton and King looked poor again, and they deserved to be hauled off at half time. I think there is potential in both players, but they'll need to step it up sooner rather than later, in my opinion. At the moment, I can't see how they are any better than some of the players playing in similar positions last season.

I ran the skuna tent at the Halifax game, we are a local brand and did it voluntary, all proceeds went back to the club with no concessions. Was great for our brand... We would love to do it again

Ultimately, our aim should be that we are in touching distance at the turn of the new year. Right now, we are doing just that and despite some tough games recently, we're still there.
We should remember that with each promotion, it gets tougher and tougher. Not just because we are playing great teams....which some of them are. But because one thing they all have in common is that they are well organised and tough to break down. Any criticism coming through on here, is just steam being let off. We are doing well in a new league and against teams that have been here a long time, and some of them professionals.

Dont forget the injuries weve sustained this season and in the run up Brad was brought in as a direct replacement for Gstop imo but has sustained more injuries these past few months than in his whole carreer we got a taster at Bradford of what he is gonna bring to the team once fit josh is getting fit now he played last season with a dodgy knee for those at connahs Quay will of witnessed his strength and poole was working away in America should be back this week. Sam is doing well his corners are class i feel thats our let down at the mo we need to convert the corners into chances on target we get a hell of a lot of corners i think we had 13 against Bradford without 1 on target. But weve also got to remember weve played a hell of a lot of the big boys away from home nuneaton are stating to climb the table so 3pts away to them looks a right result. The food situation is what it is ive stood in OT for 20 mins for a drink and a pie before now but its defo quicker to dish out cans than draft maybe draft in the bar only and cans for take out maybe put a live feed into the bar of the game the ground is wifi enabled it wouldnt take much to run a data cable from the gantry into the club house.
