Have to laugh at Morecambe's fans forum who questioned the award of our second penalty as it was probably one of the most blatant pushes in the back I've seen. As to why their defender did it only he knows as it was a totally unnecessary foul to concede. That aside the main talking point on our coach back home was why Danny Lloyd wasn't given the opportunity of redeeming his earlier miss as well as being given the opportunity of registering his first hat-trick for the club. The resulting melee after the penalty award was awarded saw no less than four players jostling to grab the ball and to take the subsequent spot kick with Richie Towell finally wrestling the ball away from Danny Lloyd and then duly missing the resulting kick which would have won us the game. In most peoples opinions Lloydy should have taken the kick as presumably he is our designated penalty taker. The seemingly unsightly spectacle of players trying to wrestle the ball from each other was unprofessional in the extreme and something that I and many others don't want to see repeated again. Let's get the order of priority sorted out as to who takes the penalty kicks so we can avoid any more such incidents which really doesn't help the penalty taker at all - irrespective of whoever it might be.

Agree that Lloyd was the obvious choice to take it despite his earlier miss. I do get the impression that Towell is a bit of a personal glory hunter given that he seems to want to shoot most times rather than look for a team mate. Not sure why but I can’t really take to him as a player

Towell was out of order. He’d done little in the game, so maybe he was trying to salvage something? If you are going to do what Towell did, you MUST then score.
