Hi everyone My names Chris and I used to be a huge man United fan as a kid but fell out of love with them many a moon ago when it became obvious they were a shell of the club they once were. I live in Northampton and usually go to local games in the county but haven't supported a team properly in years. I was A big fan of the what I guess is class of 92 Era of United so I want to come and watch one or two Salford games and hopefully re find my lovely for football.

Hi Chris, welcome to Salford City and the SCFC Ammies Forum ! I was in the same situation as yourself fell out of love for Man United when Fergie retired ! I’d even spent 12/13 seasons being a steward at Old Trafford working in the west stand upper, the Stretford End, which ended in 2013 ! I found Salford City in 2015 when the “ Class of 92’ Out of their League “ programme came out about the ex-United boys buying Salford City, a non-league team based just up the road from united’s old training ground, the Cliff ! So, as I live in south manchester in started to watch them in January 2016 when the average home attendance was 350 and now its 2,500 ! I would highly recommend you get down to Moor Lane when you get the opportunity, I know it’s difficult coming from Northamptom, we’re at Solihull Moors next weekend which is not far from you, but if you want to come down, then use the Salford City web site or the Ammies Forum to get the info you need for future matches and enjoy the non-league, family experience, you won’t regret it ! Enjoy the journey to the Football League we go, Martin !

Hi Guys
Have been looking for a club to follow after settling down in the Leigh area after 20 years in the army and 5 years in shetlands working on a gas plant away from home (I am a Geordie black and white army) but a bit fed up of the regime of Mike Ashley and I want my son to see a team in progression and to see that football is not all doom and gloom so I'm Looking to watch Salford hopefully on Saturday so few questions like whats the atmosphere like, is it family friendly, and what are the costings for grub and a brew so looking forward to becoming an Ammie
cheers
Pablo

We have the cheapest entrance fees in all National League teams, £10 for Adults and £5 for children and OAP’s ! We put on all sorts of things for the kids, face painting, footie games etc and have an area behind west stand, food, drinks and club shop ! Most games are pay at gate, parking limited on one side of Moor Lane, and down Oatlands Road and Kersal Road as they have parking restrictions around the ground ! Next home games are FA Cup replay this Wednesday, Harrogate 27th and Havant on 1st December ! You can get all games info on Salford City web site and I hope you come and enjoy the family friendly experience we have at Moor Lane and hopefully will soon become a new member of the Football League ! Enjoy, Martin

Welcome to you both. Great to see new fans joining!
... I lost interest in football after the late 1960s, when Charlton Athletic was my (local) team. I Watched a game at Salford only four seasons back and have been hooked ever since.
And, ironically, the way Salford are progressing, I doubt that it'll be long before I'm stood watching them both in the same football league game!

Always good to see interest being taken in our club and hopefully you'll get to see us sometime this season.
You say you usually go to local games. I'm just wondering if that'll be Northampton Town or any of the many non league teams in and around the area?

The best way of getting answers to all your questions is to get down to Moor Lane and find out for yourself!
See you sometime ......

Welcome. As a United 70's 80's fan, I get the same feeling again walking to Moor Lane. I hope you're feeling it too!
