Our best ever league attendance today with 2937 easily beating the previous best of 2358 against Stockport County back on the 15th August.

I had an interesting debate on Twitter with an FCUM fan. You can guess the way it went. One of his points was that we only got our highest attendance, because a big club like FCUM were in town. I pointed out that THEIR highest crowd this season was against Salford. So either we took lots of fans, or their 'plastic fans all came out to get a hard on at the sight of Gary Neville'. Didn’t go down well.
I reckon our base crowd, when the opposition bring virtually nothing is a very minimum of 1400. Perhaps closer to 1700? There’s room for improvement on that. It doesn’t help when the local Salford paper doesn’t even mention us (but reports on Sale Sharks). And the local online rag (and I’m being polite) the 'Salford Star' have made it their mission to attack everything we’ve done since the new owners took possession. They’d much rather us be on our aris and on the verge of bankruptcy, so it fits their working class agenda.
I think the club have come a long way in terms of publicising the club, but some help from local media would be useful.

Reckon if we stay top we will beat that crowd before the end of the season I personally don't think we will unless we have a play off final at Moor Lane as all our remaining home games are against lesser supported away teams. I hope you're right though!

I agree with Rich - I don't think we'll top the FC Utd attendance unless we get to a play-off final. If we do get promoted I can see the attendance going up! I think we have reason to be annoyed that the MEN don't cover us - such a shame that they sucked in the Salford Advertiser.

Surely this can be sorted out. Salford reds were on the back of advertiser every week.

their 'plastic fans all came out to get a hard on at the sight of Gary Neville'. Pot calling the kettle black at all? This exactly describes many home fans at Moor Lane!I reckon our base crowd, when the opposition bring virtually nothing is a very minimum of 1400. Perhaps closer to 1700? Don't think so. Crowd figures include all season tickets, whether they are there or not (many are not). And the local online rag (and I’m being polite) the 'Salford Star' have made it their mission to attack everything we’ve done since the new owners took possession. They've more or less ignored the club, I can't recall many "attacks". They used to be the only local media reporting on the club, and it never did anything for attendances.I think the club have come a long way in terms of publicising the club, but some help from local media would be useful. I hardly think Salford can complain about lack of media coverage!

I agree mostly with the base attendance being around the 14/1500 mark, to say MANY dont bother coming is a bold statement everyone can see it for themselves on match day how full it looks you can pretty much gauge it. The Salford star seen their ass when they didnt get an exclusive interview and since then have pretty much gone against the club in every article writen since the take over, in all due respect to local press not having made a differance in the past the club isnt what it was facilities wise and standard of team on show, the evening news clearly has beef somewhere with our owners.

If you think the crowd is lower than that, then you either don't go or can’t count. 😀 Every club counts all the ST holders, so we're not alone in that. There will always be those who can’t attend, but what proof do you have that MANY season ticket holders don’t go to the games? Utter nonsense. I didn’t say we had no media coverage, I said we had little LOCAL media coverage.....and we don’t.
