Hearing rumours that BTA is definitely on his way out to Barnsley who appear to have made a permanent offer for his services. If that's the case then he's going to be a big loss to us given his goal scoring exploits, assists and his overall all round game improvement this season under Neil Wood. Yes he's been frustrating at time over the years but there's no doubt that he always stands out in every game, makes an impression on opposing supporters and his work rate is second to none. If he definitely goes I hope we make sure we get a decent amount of money for him unless there's a buy out clause in his contract.

Seems an odd one, they are hardly setting L1 alight and we are going well in L2. We might even cross divisions at the end of the season you never know. No one is irreplaceable though so I'm sure we'll carry on OK

Club have rejected Barnsley offer! If that's the case I'm glad to hear it! I don't think NW would be too happy if we were to let him go and it would show a lack of ambition on our part. However, money always talks and some other team may well come up with a decent offer sometime in the future.
In the meantime we could always ask alanb to have a word with BTA's parents as he appears to be well in with them!

I have heard there is a get out clause of only £300K. Surely he would be a snip at that price!

£300k feels low even with him being in his final year - Wasn’t £1mil quoted when Reading came sniffing in Jan?
The biggest reservation I would have right now is his importance to the manager in the current system. The squad is small as it is, inclusive of Jenkins and Tolaj coming in. The rotation we will clearly require in the Oct-Nov-Dec period with BTA, would be a real stress test for the squad.
Appreciate our performances have been solid so far, but as it stands I am not 100% sure if we have another one or two levels to go into yet - it’s still too early. I fear losing BTA without genuine like for like quality to come in would really put pressure on Hendry and an injury prone McAleny.
I get this might come to nothing, but if this happens and we are short as mentioned in this forum throughout the end of last season and early summer - Chris Casper needs to come out and explain what the plan was/is for recruitment.

His mum and dad are both very approachable people, and I usually exchange a word or two with them at games - as do lots of Salford fans. Brandon's dad will listen politely and patiently to all that I might say about his son's performance and playing style - then he probably consigns it straight to the rubbish bin. Which is exactly as it should be!

Regardless of whether or not BTA stays or moves on surely we need to be in a position not to be worrying about it? There'll probably be speculation on any of our players that are playing well, scoring, etc and we simply need to have enough decent cover if we do lose someone? I'm sure NW is aware of this and has a plan and to add that losing one player won't suddenly make us play any different than we have been at the start of this season.

1. My gut feeling is that:
A.
The owners will not let him go, unless a silly money offer is made and that offer won't be made by any club unless BTA shows consistency and hits 20 - 25 goals over a season. The owners, whilst making a loss through this Salford City venture are savvy enough to take the hit, on the basis that they climb up the league's in the future and then start making a healthy profit later on. To climb up the league this season, BTA will be fundamental to that. There has been a strong postive start and it would be a bad business decision to upset the cart and let BTA go now. Yes, they have brought in extra forwards, but this may be for rotation. It's not feasible for BTA to give it all week in, week out including mid week and not risk burn out and injury. Rotation will be key to gaining promotion.
B.
BTA is happy and settled at Salford and finally we are playing football that suits him. The hoof ball of past never suited him and had him running round like a headless chicken. This fast paced, quick passing, along the floor game is really up his street. He also now has access to much better coaching staff at Salford, former Man U 23 coaches and even former Man U legends. That in itself would inspire any player (well, maybe apart from one who support Liverpool FC) . In addition he has players (e.g. Macaleny) whom he is developing an understanding with and feeding off. If BTA can hit 20 - 25 goals this season, and Salford go up, then he's achieved a massive genius stroke in staying. If he can hit 20 -25 goals and Salford dont go up, he'll probbaly then have clubs bigger than Barnsely knocking at his door. The challenge is on and he may just be up for it.
2. We all love BTA. We know his history and story from The Class of 92. We see that he gives 100 per cent every match. We know his family is approachable and amenable and are nice people. I hope hes playing League 1 football at Salford next season.
3. Saying all that, it's going to be a nervy couple of days to the end of the transfer window.

Reports are Birmingham City have activated the release clause believed to be £300k. There are other suitors but it looks like BTA will be on his way. Possibly keep him on a substantially improved contract?

Fair play to him, he has been on fire this year. I do however feel quite sad about this one, been great watching him develop over the last few years once he came in from Ebbsfleet Utd. As said above, not sure how you replace him, particularly this late in the window!

Personally I don't think he's Championship standard but good luck to him.

WBA in the mix as well, granted that’s an Alan Nixon line. Either way hope the club is looking for options to come in.
