Released lists have to be confirmed before midnight tomorrow. I imagine on the release front it will be Hunter, Henderson, Lund (maybe), Willock (maybe), Burgess, Golden, McAleny - then it will be either a wait and see on Thurnbull and Theo Vassell if they have been offered extensions. I know I have have been banging this drum for a few weeks now but my worry is the number of players that will hit the market and have the club made contact with them yet??? We need quality and I worry for example - with no Ste Kelly in with Watson our midfield could lack serious quality and depth. Agree with most of those but Lund got a 12 month extension until next year and McAleny also contracted until 2023 so id be surprised if they left. Love is out of contract, he can go in my opinion

The lad from Oldham would be a great addition. I like him.
Pidge, I think that boat has sailed. I don’t think he will have improved his pace after leaving us and that’s what we need in defence. Only 4 teams in the league conceded fewer than us, so I’m not so worried unless we lose anyone. That said, we all know that if you want to score against Salford, just get a shot on target. In our final game, Stevenage had 4 shots on target and scored 4 goals.
It’s the other end where we have real problems. 10 teams out scored us. We didn’t get the goals we expected our midfield to chip in with and we don’t have an out-and-out striker.

Tylor Golden has gone. I don’t know yet if he was pushed or he jumped, but it’s players like him we should be looking to keep and develop.

The only plausible reason to let a player who can play right and left back comfortably is that they will commit to Jason Lowe, Love at RB with Melhado in reserve and Ibou + Berkoe at LB maybe??? Thing is it’s all speculation because currently it’s no manager, or a potential manager with no previous or a blue print for this league in terms of squad… and a lack of a head of recruitment now. I would like to think the owners acknowledge the jeopardy of sharing a market with Swindon, Northampton, County, Newport, the wombles, Doncaster, Gillingham, Tranmere and the Tik Tok Taffs. If they sit on their hands they will miss out of a number of good players to add to what we have.

Davis Keillor-Dunn At Oldham would be a great addition to replace Kelly in my opinion. That said I think if Wrexham’s Deadpool Owners come up I can see him going back there. Looking in regularly at Oldham's Fans Forum they don't seem to rate him that highly!Defensively at this point I could see Carl Piergianni back at Moor Lane. Despite his legendary status I can't see that happening even IF we wanted him.

Not sure what Willock has done wrong? Played well until injury and then never got a chance after that.

Not sure what Willock has done wrong? Played well until injury and then never got a chance after that. I think it must be his injury record, he spent a lot of his time at Gillingham injured too. I recall one of their fans on social media saying he was a good player when fit but he rarely was fit. I liked him but if he's unreliable I can see why he'd be released. No real surprises in the ones let go, looks like a lot of players will be coming in yet again as we are currently down to 11 first team players. Hopefully the ones offered contracts stay, other than maybe Love 😄

I assume we’re keeping those on the retrained list and won’t listen to offers for them? But a chunk of players coming in again.

All in all as expected - Joel Torrance, James Melhado, Marcus Dackers, and potentially Kevin Berkoe will you would expect get opportunities pre-season. Bit surprised about Ando going from the youff players, as I have heard good reports about him and probably just needs a decent strength and condition programme to be ready for L2. I think Love has been offered an extension purely because I imagine Lowe is going to remain at RB and the squad has no defensive midfielders. Happy for Theo Vassell and Turnbull being offered new deals. Eastman I can’t see having a full season injury free.

Keillor Dunn didn’t sign an extension with Oldham, absolute no brainer for me that guy.
Yesterday during the Disney-fictation of the last day of Prem season on Sky, I went through the releases lists published on BBC Sport to date. Despite the likes of Cameron Jerome, Connor Washington’s or if you like your Connor’s - Connor Wickam’s on the list their is some real quality. Add into that players like Dom Telford and Baker Richardson not signing new deals yet at Newport this actually should be a straight forward process if the recruiters within the clubs went full force at securing new additions.
Made a list so I might put it on here once the Prem release lists are confirmed in the coming weeks but from Championship to L2 they could go full Moneyball and add a good 5-6 players all under 26. No need for the 33-37yo we will inevitably end up with.

I see Bradford have already signed 3 players, all under 25 years old. Based on past performance no doubt we'll wait another 6 weeks and bring in 7 30+ players. Would love to be proven wrong but I'm not hopeful.

Would love to be proven wrong but I'm not hopeful. Early days yet, but when you see a story like this, you start to think our close-season signings already have that air of inevitability to them. Why aren’t we attracting players in the close season? We get them in January when they are probably worried about finding a club, but not in the close season where players have more choice. What aren’t they liking about Salford? I have the idea on my head that player negotiations at Salford drag on for a long time and possibly because we deal with so many agents. Unless we just aren’t going in for them?

Not to mention GN probably messing them about in contract negotiations….
Also, the Jordan Holme debacle will be common knowledge with players and their agents.
Our poor training facilities also prevented possible signings previously too, maybe that has changed though.
