Saw a thread on Twitter. Released from Tranmere and there was some speculation that he’d turned down a contract but it seems that he wasn’t offered one. The Twitter post was DL saying thank you and goodbye to the fans. The thread has 626 likes and 147 comments. In those comments, I couldn’t find a single post that was critical of him in any way. They absolutely loved the fella at Tranmere. Many thinking he should have started more regular and wasn’t given a decent chance (that sounds familiar). Also that at times, the only player on the pitch that gave 100%. Attack-minded, always looking to push the team on.
I’m not sure what it is that managers don’t like about him, but fans do. But it shows he wasn’t out of his depth in League 2.

I think fans like him as he always gives maximum effort for the team when perhaps others appear not to be as committed. Almost like one of us getting the chance to play. That said, and I know people who think this, that effort can mask ability and effectiveness. He does run around a lot but there aren't loads of occasions where he influences games and maybe that's what his managers have thought. Either way good luck to him I hope he gets fixed up with a club.

Has always been popular with the fans of all the teams he's played for given his total commitment and energy that he always displayed. In our only season in the National League he made a total of 35 league and cup apps but only scored three times and in our debut Football League season he made just 14 apps in total and again scored three goals before losing favour. He never reached the heights that he displayed against us when at Stockport County and I think he flattered to deceive at times by being busy but not producing an end result more than he did. When we signed him from Peterborough United I was delighted but he didn't make the sort of impression I expected him to do despite having one or two memorable games for us with the 3-0 home win over Hartlepool in the National League being the stand out one for me. I wish him well though wherever he turns up next providing it's not against us!

When he played for Salford he was a little human dynamo. But, from what I remember - much as we willed him on - only occasionally did his constant running actually play any real part in the ball going in the net. He did come across as personable, open and honest ... and anxious to do his very best in every game. You'd like to think that he will find his near-perfect fit in some decent club sooner rather than later.
