Well. Any Ammie who says that after about the first 30 minutes of play they wouldn't have grabbed the offer of a draw with both hands is being economical with the veracity. Ho-wev-er ... with 10 minutes left to play I'd have gambled a tenner (quite a lot for me, guys) on us outwitting them to come away with all 3 points.
On today's Salford performance: Gold for Hladky Silver for Golden
Bronze for Andrade

Hladky saved us, without a doubt, but I thought Andrade and Asante played really well. Perhaps we haven’t quite gelled yet, and if so, then we’re doing fantastically well, getting points on the board. But once again, we are looking goal-shy. That 4-0 last week shouldn’t hide the fact that we may struggle to score this season.

Yes a draw was about the best we could expect against a physically very strong and well organised team. To be honest I thought the way they started we were looking at another thumping but we improved in the second half and could have snatched it at the end. Golden was very good and Andrade had his best game for us I think. Again Hladky kept us in it with some great saves. I was very surprised when Andrade went off as Wilson is many things but a right winger isn’t one of them. Perhaps an indication of the lack of depth and imbalance in our squad this season.
Being positive we are 5 points up on the equivalent games last season so definitely something to build on there. Onwards and upwards and hopefully we start to click and put some wins together soon.

I think we can learn from the way FGR set up and played today. They kept the ball and were strong in midfield. Playing Wilson where he did, surprised me. We must play our players where they are strongest, especially when we need a goal. We need to get the best out of the whole squad. Bu5 it’s an observation, not a criticism. We’re doing fine compared to most of our early seasons, and there’s potential to get better.

Would Gibbo's presence have made much of a difference today?
I did toy with having Brandon as one of 'my medal winners'; but - although you can't help but be impressed by his fight, acceleration and skill - I did feel that he could (and I'm sure that he can) have done even better.

Would Gibbo's presence have made much of a difference today? Definitely. Our midfield today was essentially a central midfielder and 2 wingers so I think another specialist midfelder in there would have given us much more presence. I presume he, Clarke and Towell are all injured at present. Maybe Jones could have done a job in there, assuming he is fit of course.

What's the betting that when Tangerinedream eventually comes on here with his comprehensive and considered match report he'll have something to say about professional footballers not being capable of keeping their balls down.
(alluding to some of Ash Hunter's shots at goal. )

Two games at home both where our midfield was over run. FGR like Exeter were a bigger, better passing side. Still, we fought them to a standstill and it was a very entertaining 0-0. But as we know this league is tough as can be seen by where Bolton and Tranmere are. Big plus is that Golden seems to be the answer to the left back problem. I think we will name a stand after Hladky by the end of the season. We may be able to buy a new ground as well if the big boys come looking for him.

... however with our very minted owners could Salford not buy a new ground any time, anyway, 123? Hladky is the ace in our pack. We should keep him at all costs.

Sorry should have specified which Jones, I meant Joey unless he’s gone with his namesake Dan of course!

A good opening 10 minute flourish from ourselves with a Bruno Andrade shot flashing just wide, two well positioned free kicks that came to nothing and oh dear that miss from Tom Elliott when bearing down on goal who then produced two dreadful touches to completely lose the opportunity. I'm sorry but he just isn't producing the goods for me up front and is becoming something of a poor mans Mani Dieseruvwe. We look as if we should have grabbed a goal in an almighty scramble with just three minutes of normal time remaining following on from Ash Hunter's free kick that struck the far post a couple of minutes earlier. James Wilson is another player who continues to frustrate and I have to question his commitment to the cause. How long can he continue to dine out on his two goal debut as substitute against Plymouth last season? Overall I thought FGR were the more dangerous side, created more opportunities and I really thought they'd nick a goal at some stage or other but then again we've got arguably the best keeper in the division who kept us in the game right up to the final whistle. We appear to be replicating last season's form at this early stage so I can safely say we'll win at Stevenage next weekend!

Elliott should also have done better from a free header he got late-on, but didn’t get high enough for it. I smiled when you likened him to Mani, but you’re right. He has one job really and he’s not done it. He needs to get a shot off when bearing down on goal. When given a feee header, he needs to take those chances.
I didn’t see the point of Wilson being stuck out wide when we needed a goal.
The key is possession. We shouldn’t be conceding 60% of it at home to the team with the best away record in the league. But we don’t seem to worry about possession. I think our best chances came yesterday on the break, but save that for tricky away games. Our home form has to improve this season.
I saw that with Bolton looking very poor, we are now 5/1 favourites to win the league, and the nearest to us are 10/1. I don’t know what the bookies are seeing, but those odds are ridiculous.

It's now just two wins from our last fourteen league outings at Moor Lane. This has to change and soon!

Elliott would be a good impact sub if we’re chasing a game late on but not sure given his lack of pace and mobility and the touch of a wheelie bin that he should be first choice to start. The formation at the moment seems a bit strange, I’d be looking at a 4231 with an extra body alongside Lowe in central midfield. Assuming Gibson is injured we’re a bit stuck at the moment but I think once he’s back him and Lowe in midfield with Hunter, Henderson and Andrade as the attacking 3 behind BTA would give us better balance and more control of midfield where we have been overrun in our 2 home games this season.
