Thought I'd put this in an active section of the forum, although not Salford related.
Now I do hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't Wrexham fans prone to making lots of noise over them being fan-owned and not run by celebrities as a vanity project?
Yet here we are, with a hollywood celebrity poised to take them over and their fans voted for it (95% of them) overwhelmingly!
Mmmm

They will have every game decided by a penalty shoot out. Cheerleaders. Picnics on the car park, and air conditioning so all that plastic doesn't melt!

There is a strong suggestion that these Hollywood film persons plan to make a film of their planned takeover of Wrexham FC and the ensuing dramas. I bet that they watched the "Class of '92; Out of their League" series of documentaries and thought: "Yeah, we'll have some of that; could be big box office!" Don't no one tell them that under Welsh employment law regulations any such film made must star Welsh actors... speaking in Welsh! Which would limit the film's international appeal and big bucks' returns somewhat.

PS: OK, so I made up the last bit. There are no such Welsh regulations... at least I don't think that there are.

... and it'll be renamed Wrexham SC (Wrexham Soccer Club).

So it’s finally happened and just as we expected, all their principles have gone straight out of the window when they got a sniff of some cash. At least we have ex-footballers in charge, rather than actors. Let’s see if they continue to throw the ‘vanity project’ insult at us ever again! 😂😂
I actually don’t criticise btw. For any club these days, they should grab investment opportunities. But how do they square this 180 degree turnaround?

They were on the radio talking about it, yesterday. Totally clueless! 🤣
I bet the fans were cringing every time they said ‘association football’.....
Oh dear, what was wrong with an old bloke in a John Motson style coat and Trilby? Where have they all gone. There was a lot to be said for the old days...
I hope they don’t regret it. So long as they take some advice from their Hollywood chum Becks, and understand that you have to sack your managers when you are in the top 5, without a defeat, they’ll go far. 😂

Apparently the new owners had said how [when normal service resumes] they were looking forward to having a friendly drink with the fans after a match. And, as Adrian wryly commented: "If Wrexham have just lost 3-0 - and it's their fifth defeat in a row - the Hollywood stars might not find 'a friendly post-match drink with the fans' to be quite the experience that they were expecting!"

Fair play to Mulhenney though, he cough up £6k for a disabled fans new mobility bathroom, so not all bad for Wrexham fans already. The cynic in me says it a was a PR stunt though....
